beBee Careers is seeking a Sustainability Director in Toronto, ON, Canada, to lead climate action and sustainability strategies, particularly in the food industry. Sustainability Director Role

Are you passionate about climate action and sustainability? Do you have a strong understanding of ESG concepts, especially in the food industry?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sustainability Director. In this role, you will lead the management of our sustainability strategy, including setting goals and policies for climate-related issues such as GHG management, emissions reductions, green buildings, renewable energy, and sustainable sourcing.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Thinking: Develop and implement strategies to achieve our sustainability goals, including trend analysis and identifying opportunities for leadership and collaboration.
• Project Management: Manage and execute sustainability projects across departments and brands, facilitating cross-functional initiatives and engaging with executive leadership and governance bodies.
• Communication & Reporting: Track progress, manage external disclosures (e.g., CDP, TCFD, GRI, ISSB, SASB, CSRD), and represent us in external sustainability collaborations.

You will be responsible for tracking progress, managing external disclosures, and representing us in external sustainability collaborations. This role reports to the Senior Director, Sustainability.

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong understanding of ESG concepts, excellent project management, communication, and relationship-building skills. You should also have data analysis skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in consulting, NGO, CSR, sustainability operations, or related roles, preferably within the restaurant industry. A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
