Job Description

Gensler is seeking a Summer Climate Action Intern in New York to support sustainability strategies and consulting services. Responsibilities include assisting with carbon targets, documenting green building processes, and engaging in project assessments. Your Role:

Key responsibilities are as follows:
• Support the Climate Action & Sustainability team in sustainable consulting services.
• Assist in achieving carbon targets and sustainability goals for projects.
• Document green building certification processes and quantify materials for embodied carbon analysis.
• Support LEED Design and Construction credits for various projects.
• Engage in project Embodied Carbon Assessments.
• Participate in client and design teamwork sessions.
• Provide sustainable product selection guidance.
• Contribute to daylight modeling, energy analysis, and resource efficiency studies.
• Research regulations and incentives for client guidance.

About You:

Ideal candidates will have:
• Enrollment in a degree related to sustainable building, architecture, or engineering.
• Completion of the third year of an undergraduate or first year of a graduate program.
• Knowledge of sustainable building materials and certifications.
• Understanding of embodied carbon research and lifecycle assessment.
• Familiarity with third-party ingredient disclosures.
• Interest in sustainable design and project management.
• Ability to perform technical analysis.
• Proficiency in LEED Online, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and InDesign.
• Familiarity with Climate Studio, Ladybug Tools, and Revit.

Compensation & Benefits:

This is a paid internship offering $25 - $27.50 per hour, based on location and educational level.
