Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Cleantech Innovation Expert to lead efforts on bridging the gap between research & development and commercialization of cleantech solutions across a range of climate sectors. This role will focus on identifying upcoming technological solutions to climate mitigation, adaptation and resilience building for emerging markets, evaluating the technologies, commercializing and scaling effective solutions, and capturing data-based environmental impact. As a subject matter expert, you will collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver sound technical recommendations and actionable strategies on functioning, readiness and impact of climate technologies being used or developed. Key Responsibilities: Evaluation of climate technologies being developed by startups and research centers: Scout cleantech solutions for implementation in the emerging markets of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Conduct detailed technical assessments of new clean technologies being developed by startups in climate sub-sectors. Commercialization, market entry and scaling: Provide due diligence on technologies and support development of strategies to translate lab research into market application including commercialization roadmaps and go-to-market strategies. Analysis & Modelling: Conduct or support energy audits and evaluations of energy/natural resource consumption patterns across various industries and sectors. Employ advanced modelling techniques to simulate scenarios (such as energy efficiency improvement and water consumption optimization) and forecast emissions reduction outcomes through integration of new clean technologies. Investment analysis: Provide key assumptions to be included in financial model of project companies by virtue of the technologies. Education: At least an advanced degree in Engineering, Climate/Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, or a related field. Essential Competencies: Demonstrated experience in evaluating climate technologies for readiness and effectiveness. Experience of investing in or having worked with investors or incubators on Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) businesses. Hands-on experience in emerging markets including the cleantech startup ecosystems, market, stakeholders, challenges, and opportunities. Skilled in advanced modelling techniques to simulate scenarios with experience of energy audits. Experience: Minimum 10 years of professional work experience with minimum 5 years of experience in technical evaluation of clean technologies, commercialization mapping of under-development cleantech solutions, market entry/scaling of existing clean technologies, working with incubators and investors on making a business case for emerging technologies, with hands-on experience of emerging markets.
