Class A Delivery and Shuttle Driver

UNFI is hiring Class A Delivery and Shuttle Drivers based in the Kansas City area for shuttle and delivery routes to Iowa City, Wichita, and Joplin. The job involves operating day cab tractors and unloading products while complying with regulations. Applicants must have a valid CDL-A, be at least 21 years old, and pass a written exam and road test. This is a full-time position with shifts primarily in the afternoon to early morning.
We’re hiring CDL-A drivers based out of the Kansas City area to run both shuttle and delivery routes for UNFI, a leader in food distribution. If you're looking for a stable driving career with a well-supported team, this is the job for you!
• Shuttle Routes: Run between Kansas City and Iowa City (3-4 times a week), with afternoon to early morning shifts.
• Delivery Routes: Deliver to customers in the Kansas City, Wichita, and Joplin areas, with early morning to midafternoon shifts (Monday-Saturday, most schedules are 4 working days per week).
• Drivers will operate day cab tractors with 53’ and 48’ trailers, unloading with lift gates and electric power jacks—with occasional use of a two-wheel cart.

Additional Functions Include:
• Complying with FMCSA regulations.
• Delivering and unloading products utilizing equipment, including tractor trailer, ramps, lift gates, pallet jacks, load bars, and other devices which assist delivery.
• Operating vehicle safely within UNFI guidelines minimizing accidents, traffic violations, and complaints from the public.
• Reporting any accident immediately to the Transportation Manager/Department.
• Picking up supplies and back hauls from vendors while completing related paperwork.
• Addressing and resolving customer problems as appropriate.
• Ensuring customer orders arrive in quality condition and correspond precisely to the initial order.
• Communicating professionally with customers and vendors.

Job Requirements
• Valid medical card as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Administration and a valid state specific Commercial Driver’s License (Class A and CDL Drivers require respective licensing).
• Ability to pass a written exam and road test.
• Basic knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) law and mandates and understanding of UNFI’s safety standards.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
