We currently have an opportunity for an Engineering Technician to join our Civil/Environmental team in Wausau, WI. The selected candidate will assist with drafting and construction observation/inspection for a variety of civil infrastructure projects throughout Wisconsin.

Primary Responsibilities
• Under the direction of engineering staff prepares initial construction drawings for markup and comments using CAD software.
• Assists with the preparation of construction plans, specifications, supporting documents, quantity calculations and permit applications.
• Provides construction observation/inspection services on roadway, water, sewer, and drainage improvement projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
• High School diploma or GED is required; A.S. degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents, compute quantities and verify measurements and layouts.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD is required; experience with Civil3D is desired.
• Good organizational and communication skills with the ability to maintain detailed daily progress logs and work proactively with all project stakeholders.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) to write reports and manage data.
• Must be willing to work in the field full-time under variable weather conditions and be able walk on a construction site and lift up to 30lbs.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to project sites and work extended hours are required.
