Job Description
HDR is seeking a motivated Civil (Solid Waste) Intern in Omaha, NE. The role involves gaining hands-on experience in solid waste facilities and environmental projects, assisting with groundwater sampling, and supporting project managers. Candidates should be enrolled in an engineering program with a strong GPA, possess problem-solving skills, and have basic Microsoft Office knowledge. Civil (Solid Waste) Intern
We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Civil (Solid Waste) Intern. As an intern, you will gain real-world experience on exciting projects by applying standard engineering techniques and procedures to solid waste facilities and environmental projects such as landfills, recycling facilities, remediation sites, and waste transfer stations.
Under the guidance and direct supervision of a senior-level Engineer, you will assist in groundwater sampling program including coordination with laboratories, data analysis and reporting on behalf of private and public clients for regulatory agency compliance.
You will also perform other duties as needed such as performing overall site layouts, grading plans, utility layout, cost estimating and drainage reviews. Additionally, you will perform administrative duties to support project managers and our clients.
Responsibilities

• Connect with recent college graduates and company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
Preferred Qualifications
• Prefer 2+ years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Prior experience with field work and environmental regulations is a plus
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation is a plus
Required Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
• Attention to detail
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
