Job Description
Gulf Wind Technology is seeking a Chief Operations Officer in New Orleans, LA, responsible for strategic planning, project management, and supplier relations. Key duties include developing products to enhance quality and efficiency, managing project portfolios, and recruiting talent. Candidates should have over 10 years of project management experience in manufacturing, proficiency in Lean Six Sigma, and excellent communication and leadership skills.
OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE:
Develop products, solutions and systems to improve quality and efficiency
PRINCIPAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strategic Planning & ramp; Goal Setting
• Collaborate with executive stakeholders to develop strategy and objectives
• Develop and disseminate status reports to key stakeholders
• Support in the planning of department budget and align to company set targets for cost of product
• Assist in the strategic planning of key innovations needed to support company programs
Project Management
o Manage project portfolio and resource allocation to ensure project deliverables are met
o Accountable to track and analyze processes to improve quality, operational efficiency and reduce cost
o Establish operations and performance standards using Six Sigma methods
o Develop production ramp up plans to achieve production sustainability with minimal variation
Supplier Relations
o Identify suppliers to ensure a robust supply chain is achieved
o Qualify suppliers to ensure product specifications are upheld
o Conduct supplier audits to ensure company standards are met
Recruitment & ramp; Training
o Work with key leaders to Identify gaps in current company skillset needed to achieve business strategy and objectives
o Develop current team and recruit top talent to accomplish company objectives
o Build inclusive and inspiring corporate culture to maintain a happy and productive workplace
EXPERIENCE:
• 10+ years project management experience in manufacturing industry
• Experience using Lean Six Sigma methods in production environment
• Experience in manufacturing operational processes and quality control
• Leadership skills – experience with team management and recruitment
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Minitab
SKILLS:
• Excellent communication skills: verbal and written
• Teamwork and leadership skills: Successfully manage and motivate workforce
• Ability to think creatively to solve problems
• Excellent organization and analytical skills
