SmithGroup is seeking a Campus Planning Intern in Atlanta, GA, for candidates who have completed at least their sophomore year in Urban Planning, Design, or Landscape Architecture. The role involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, assisting with project deliverables, attending meetings, and coordinating public engagement. Proficiency in SketchUp, Adobe Creative Cloud, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office is required. The position offers hybrid work options, allowing for remote work flexibility.

The Atlanta office of SmithGroup is looking for a Campus Planning Intern to join our team.
Working with us, you will:
• Collaborate with diverse teams of interdisciplinary professionals (architects, landscape architects, urban designers, engineers) to support higher education focused campus planning projects across the country.
• Perform basic integration of planning elements such as academic/research/student life redevelopment opportunities, cultural heritage, transportation, green infrastructure, open space, sustainability, and resiliency strategies into planning projects.
• Assist with efforts around production of project presentations, planning reports and all project deliverables to ensure an integrated and cohesive outcome.
• Attend client meetings and team workshops.
• Help coordinate public engagement activities.
• Receive mentorship from experienced design and planning professionals.
An ideal candidate has:
• Completed at least their sophomore year or have graduate level standing in an Urban/Regional Planning, Urban Design or Landscape Architecture program by the time of the internship.
• Experience with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, ArcGIS and the Microsoft Office Suite.

SmithGroup promotes a healthy work/life balance for our staff, as well as hybrid work options that give interns the flexibility to work within our vibrant office culture or remotely, as needed. The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, at the time of posting. You are eligible to receive overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a work week. Our 12-week summer internships are held between May-August. We encourage you to apply early as the position will close once filled.
