Job Description

North Metropolitan TAFE is seeking a Career Guidance Officer for a 24-month appointment at their Northbridge campus in WA, Australia. The role focuses on providing career development services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, particularly youth. Responsibilities include advising students on training options, enhancing job search skills, and connecting them with employment opportunities. The position offers various benefits, including flexible hours and leave options.
Level 4, $92,098- $96,660pa, PSCSAA

We are establishing a 24 month appointment pool for vacancies that may arise. We may offer permanent, fixed term, full time, part time or casual appointments, with the possibility of a further term and/or permanency.

Northbridge campus, as we are a multi-campus institution you may be required to work from more than one campus

About the Role

The Career Guidance Officer is responsible for delivering high-quality career development services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and groups of clients of all ages.

With a focus on Aboriginal youth engagement and with schools and the school sectors to advise Aboriginal year 10 – 12 students of the JSC’s services and post-school training and employment options; assisting Aboriginal youth in becoming work-ready and providing follow up support; and site visits to other organisations working with Aboriginal youth to introduce them to the services.

The Career Guidance Officer provides information on training and further education options to assist clients meet their career goals. The Officer also assists clients with their jobs search skills and assists to connect clients to work experience, employment and/or apprenticeship/traineeship opportunities.
