Job Summary:

The Carbon Market Associate shall be responsible for developing and implementing GHG accounting frameworks and conduct emission calculations for corporates and projects. The candidate needs to have a deep understanding of GHG accounting standards and protocols. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical services and support to the clients on GHG accounting and reporting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profits, and private sector partners, to drive project success and maximize impact.
• Review project design documents and conduct GHG inventory audits in accordance with relevant standards.
• Monitor and report on the performance of offset projects, including baseline scenarios, emission reduction outcomes and co-benefits.
• Implement GHG accounting frameworks and methodologies in accordance with international standards (for example, ISO 14064, IPCC Guidelines, GHG Protocol)
• Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG inventorying and audits, ensuring accurate and transparent reporting of emissions
• Work with technology team for improving software platforms.
• Advising clients for onboarding and using the software platforms.
• Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new project opportunities and partnerships in the carbon market
• Represent the company at conferences, workshops, and other industry events.

Qualifications:
• Bachelors/Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Renewable Energy or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in GHG accounting and reporting.
• Strong knowledge and experience of carbon accounting standards (ISO 14064, IPCC Guidelines, GHG Protocol), carbon measurement techniques and calculation methods for Scopes 1, 2, and 3, LCA (Life Cycle Assessment)
• Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing GHG accounting frameworks and developing and managing carbon offset projects.
• Understanding of carbon market mechanisms, regulatory frameworks and international standards (e.g., CDM, VCS, Gold Standard).
• Experience on offset projects registrations will be an added advantage in selection criteria
