Job Description

WSP is seeking a Carbon Footprint Reduction Manager in Chicago, IL, to lead Building Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) services. The role involves developing LCA models, reducing GHG emissions, and collaborating with clients on sustainability goals. Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in sustainability and LCA, and possess strong knowledge of GHG accounting practices. This is a full-time position with a focus on client engagement and staff development.
Join Our Team

We are seeking an experienced Building Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) expert to join our Built Ecology team as an Associate Vice President. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and developing our building LCA services, working closely with our team of experts to deliver high-quality projects and client-facing engagements.

About the Role

You will lead the development of whole-building LCA models and reports, focusing on reducing GHG emissions and developing net-zero roadmaps. Additionally, you will collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary project teams to establish and implement embodied carbon and sustainability goals, providing technical support for sustainable materials specifications and sourcing.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of building LCA methodologies and tools, including ISO 14040/44 and EN 15978
• Lead the development of whole-building LCA models and reports, focusing on reducing GHG emissions and developing net-zero roadmaps
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary project teams to establish and implement embodied carbon and sustainability goals, providing technical support for sustainable materials specifications and sourcing
• Maintain and enhance WSP's relationships with existing clients and develop new business opportunities
• Promote WSP's expertise in building LCA services and facilitate knowledge-sharing across the organization
• Support staff development, including training and mentorship in embodied carbon and LCA-related topics

Requirements
• 10+ years of experience in sustainability, energy, and climate consulting for buildings, including at least 5 years of applied professional experience in life cycle assessments and embodied carbon analysis
• Strong working knowledge of GHG accounting practices and life cycle assessment software, such as One Click LCA, EC3, Tally LCA
• LEED Accredited Professional
