About the position

The Carbon Capture Technical Executive at EPRI will lead the research program focused on the transport and storage of carbon dioxide (CO2) and low carbon fuels, including hydrogen (H2). This role requires a comprehensive understanding of various transport methods and underground storage techniques, along with the ability to manage large research teams and projects. The executive will be responsible for setting the technical direction of the program, developing research strategies, preparing funding proposals, and managing program budgets and deliverables.

Responsibilities
• Lead the transport and storage research program at EPRI.

• Manage and lead large internal and external research teams with diverse backgrounds.
,
• Create research and development strategies and prepare funding proposals.
,
• Develop and manage program budgets, project contractors, deliverables, and schedules.
,
• Prepare and present research reports and results to stakeholders.
,
• Identify tactical and strategic research problems and develop new business opportunities.
,
• Effectively manage multiple research projects simultaneously.

Requirements
• Doctoral degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, or related earth science field.

• 15+ years of experience in projects and program management related to engineering, geology, geophysics, or hydrogeology.
,
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in transport and underground storage of CO2 and/or H2.
,
• Strong foundation in scientific principles related to fluid dynamics and subsurface flow.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience with writing proposals and leading federal research grants.
