Campus Sustainability Officer

The University of Rhode Island is seeking a Campus Sustainability Officer to lead a comprehensive sustainability program. Responsibilities include overseeing resource management, advising leadership, developing sustainability metrics, and promoting sustainable practices across the campus. About the position

The Campus Sustainability Officer will organize and oversee the implementation and management of a comprehensive university program to promote a culture of sustainability and stewardship of resources. This includes utilities, energy and waste management, consumption, recycling, and facilities planning and construction. The officer will work directly with the university community to assist in implementing sustainable practices in both curricular and co-curricular activities. They will serve as a spokesperson on sustainability issues and collaborate with the President's Executive Council to develop and implement campus sustainability strategies. This role involves developing metrics, gathering data, building dashboards, monitoring progress, and reporting on sustainability performance and objectives related to the campus strategic plan and climate action plan. The officer will also lead and serve on university committees to promote sustainable practices across all campuses and assist in achieving carbon neutrality goals.

Responsibilities
• Interface with various university offices to ensure best practices in renewable energy and sustainability.

Requirements
• Master's degree.
