The Fund for the Public Interest is hiring a Campaign Manager in Portland, OR, to combat plastic pollution by advocating for stronger plastic bag laws. The role involves educating citizens and engaging them in environmental campaigns. This full-time position does not require a degree and focuses on political advocacy and communication skills to influence policy changes.
Job Description: Work to stop plastic pollution in our citizen outreach and field manager positions. In our Portland office, we’re working to get plastic out of our environment by expanding the state’s ban on plastic bags. Nothing we use for a few minutes should threaten our health and pollute our environment for hundreds of years—especially when it’s “stuff” we don’t need. We know well-designed plastic bag laws work and are effective at reducing plastic pollution but Oregon’s current ban is full of loopholes.
