The Senior Controls Engineer at Climate Control Group in Oklahoma City will design, develop, and implement HVAC control systems. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science, with at least 5 years of experience in product development and expertise in embedded systems, control theory, and relevant programming languages.

Position Summary:

The Senior Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the controls systems for HVAC products that meet or exceed best-in-class performance. The person will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary product development and product support team. The Senior Controls Engineer has firsthand knowledge and experience in the areas of embedded firmware and software development, software development tools, product life cycle management process, software modelling techniques, software testing, design for manufacturing, etc.

The Senior Controls Engineer will employ a balanced combination of advanced analytical techniques and experimental methods. Although the Senior Controls Engineer’s prime responsibility will be software/firmware development, the Senior Controls Engineer is expected to have a competent working knowledge of hardware electronics, hands-on skills with lab/diagnostic equipment and tools, and familiarity with a stage gate product development process.

Essential Functions:
• Support system design engineering, product engineering, manufacturing, sales & marketing, quality and supply chain functions.
• Interface with vendors, customers, and field personnel.
• Provide measurable contributions to several NPD projects and sustaining initiatives, as well as help support legacy products through their complete life cycle.

Skills & Abilities:

Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science with a preferred emphasis on electronic controls system design is required.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of product development experience.

Skills:
• Various integrated development environments (IDE).
• Defect tracking systems, version and revision control systems, requirements capture, system architecture modelling.
• Development and implementation of unit tests.
• HVAC control system design and applications, Control Theory, and multi-level PID loop design and tuning.
• Use of IP, BACnet, LONtalk, and Mod Bus communication protocols.
• Embedded operating systems, including Linux.

Other Requirements:
• Programming languages: C, C++, assembly, and Visual Basic.
