Job Description

Maroon Research Institute is seeking a Climate Innovation Director to lead Climate R&D in the UK or USA West Coast. The role focuses on the Built Environment and Blue Economy, enhancing Human Health and Longevity. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in climate innovation and a track record in investment partnerships. The position is primarily virtual but may require occasional travel for research projects.

CLIMATE R&D INNOVATION DIRECTOR (Full-Time or Part-Time based in the UK or USA West Coast) ... who will be responsible for leading Climate Research & Innovation at our exciting, dynamic, and highly global Research Institute ~ specifically in core areas of Built Environment and Ocean / Blue Economy that directly improve Human HEALTHY AGING & LONGEVITY!

QUESTION 1 - Are YOU an experienced Climate “INVESTOR-OPERATOR” with at least 5 years developing and spearheading CLIMATE R&D through the innovation lifecycle to deliver on successful commercialised Climate R&D Innovation specifically in one of below:
• Blue Economy/Ocean (e.g. Marine BioTech for Human Health)
• Built Environment (e.g. not real estate/ infrastructure but materials / tech / other areas where there are direct Climate-Health impacts)
• Other Climate areas of DIRECT Climate Impact on Human Health

QUESTION 2 – Can you share evidence of an “Innovation- Investment Return” TRACK RECORD in successfully partnering/collaborating with philanthropic funding sources (non-govt, non-grant); as well as, investment capital (corporate, institutional, family offices); in the form of tangible IMPACT KPIs and/or FINANCIAL KPIs (e.g. ROI, IRR, MOIC)?

QUESTION 3 – Do you have demonstrated expertise of at least 2 years in ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, ROBOTICS & HARDWARE in Climate innovation and applications?

QUESTION 4 - Are YOU currently located in the United Kingdom, USA West Coast time zone, OR able to work some Asia business hours on a regular basis?

Climate focus is specifically in Blue Economy, Built Environment, Climate Impact on Health, and leveraging Artificial Intelligence to accelerate and amplify Climate impact.

• Work Presence: Primarily virtual, however given large research component of position – it is helpful if the Director has some flexibility/ability to travel from time to time to manage and monitor physical research projects and partnerships
