Job Description

Scion Staffing is seeking a CFO in Los Angeles, CA, responsible for developing financial strategies, supporting the CEO, managing budgets and investments, overseeing audits, and ensuring compliance with financial policies. The role includes serving the Board of Trustees and managing IT and technology teams while promoting a safe and inclusive work environment. This is a full-time position with no degree requirement mentioned.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, recommend, and implement financial strategies to support the institution's short-term and long-range proposals, goals, and strategic plans.
• Support the CEO's goals and visions with advice and strong financial strategies. Provide necessary reports and/or presentations to support recommendations and strategies.
• Analyze financial performance and maintain the annual budget through regular forecasting and corrections; provide budget updates and analysis to leadership and the Board.
• Establish and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and procedures maintaining compliance with best practices and legal requirements.
• Manage endowment fund investments, short-term investments, and monitor cash requirements.
• Supervise annual independent audits as well as other audit activities, coordinate issuance of certified annual financial statements.
• Serve as staff support to the Board of Trustees, particularly the Executive, Finance, Audit, and Investment Committees on fiduciary and financial matters.
• Oversee and support the negotiation of contracts and earned revenue streams, including tenant leases, government support, café, and store partnerships.
• Steward and maintain partnerships with entities such as the City of San Jose.
• Lead and manage the IT and technology team.
• Support the organization's goals and approach in providing a safe, inclusive, and equitable work environment, in alignment with the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
• Complete additional related tasks or duties as assigned by the CEO.
