A Day in the Life

A CEQA Project Manager leverages their knowledge of CEQA and project experience to prepare all types of CEQA analyses/documents for a diverse range of private and public projects. A CEQA Project Manager is responsible for managing the relationships with the assigned clients, preparing sections of or entire CEQA documents, and working closely with supporting technical staff that contribute to the preparation of the CEQA document. This role would also involve proposal writing, client meetings, and general marketing. A CEQA Project Manager reports to the Vice President/Director of Environmental Services.

What You Will Do
• Research, preparation of CEQA analyses, and manage production of CEQA documents;
• Work as part of a collaborative team, and support each other and the needs of our clients;
• Review and edit technical studies and CEQA analyses prepared by supporting technical staff;
• Maintain regular contact with clients and project teams to develop approaches, exchange project descriptive information and technical studies, strategize on solutions to challenges, and provide status updates on deliverables;
• Coordinate with Lead and Responsible Agencies;
• Attend project meetings and hearings, and prepare and deliver presentations at public hearings;
• Prepare proposals and develop business with new and existing clients; and
• Manage project budgets.

What We Expect of You

The qualified professional we seek has the following qualifications:
• A minimum of 3+ years of direct professional experience with the preparation of CEQA documents;
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws and regulations related to land use, planning, permitting, and environmental protection;
• Working knowledge of land use permitting processes, environmental review, and local agency policies and procedures related to planning and development;
• Excellent skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis, objective professional writing, interpersonal communication, and organization;
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks within deadlines and budgets; and
• Commitment to the Corporation's vision, mission, and core values.
• In addition, experience with CalEEMOD preparation, and air quality/greenhouse gas emissions and/or noise/vibration analyses are not mandatory but considered a plus.
