Job Description
The C&I Site Specialist at CAMS Renewable Services in Houston, TX, ensures the smooth operation of renewable energy systems, managing maintenance, subcontractors, and compliance. Responsibilities include overseeing service work orders, monitoring system performance, generating reports, and ensuring contract adherence. Candidates should have relevant experience or education, proficiency in Excel, and strong organizational skills. The role is primarily office-based with some travel for site visits.
The Site Specialist is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of our renewable energy portfolio, overseeing preventive maintenance, subcontractor coordination, and site compliance across solar PV, battery storage, wind, and other energy systems. Working closely with Site Managers and vendor partners, this role ensures all contractual maintenance activities are executed on time, system performance is actively monitored, and issues are escalated promptly. The Site Specialist maintains accurate operational data and delivers clear, timely reports to both internal teams and external customers, ensuring full alignment with contract commitments across a large renewable energy portfolio of sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Create, own and manage an assigned queue of service work orders, driving timely completion within required timeframes.
• Plan, manage, and drive completion of preventive maintenance obligations ensuring scheduling, execution, and closeout align with contract requirements. Includes: washing, vegetation control, electrical services, etc.
• Coordinate subcontractor field activities, ensuring proper sequencing, ensuring clear scopes, timely execution, and accurate closeout documentation.
• Monitor system performance, including soiling losses, escalating issues, and maintaining precise maintenance and production data.
• Create and receive against purchase orders for preventive maintenance and additional service work. Review, process, and approve subcontractor invoices, ensuring timely submittal, accuracy and alignment to SOW and pricing.
• Generate internal and customer-facing reports on site performance and maintenance.
• Ensure contract compliance, safety, and regulatory adherence across sites.
• Support new site onboarding, setting up data structures and operational processes.
• Foster subcontractor relationships while driving accountability and performance within established KPIs.
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Maintain and analyze operational data using Excel and Power BI to track maintenance completion, resource allocation, cost forecasting, vendor performance and system outputs.
• Participate in regional RFPs, recommending subcontractor awards.
• Collaborate with dispatch, billing, and field teams to align operations with customer expectations.
• Associate’s degree + 1 year relevant experience, OR HS/GED + 3 years relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
Preferred:
• Experience with databases, electronic folders.
• Knowledge of Maximo work order systems
• Basic knowledge of solar PV systems with a desire to expand expertise.
• Background in continuous improvement and cross-functional teamwork.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, manuals, and contracts.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and customer service skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with high accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
• Positive, collaborative, and adaptable mindset.
Physical Requirements
• Primarily office-based, with extended periods at a computer workstation.
• Frequent phone and computer use.
• Occasional travel and site visits, requiring vehicle operation, ladder climbing, or lift use.
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record, as this position requires occasional travel for company business. Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities and must meet any applicable company and insurance requirements.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, and relevant qualifications.
This range represents the base salary and does not include other forms of compensation, such as bonuses, benefits, or equity, which may be offered in addition to the base pay. The company reserves the right to modify compensation ranges at any time in accordance with business needs and market conditions.
