Job Description
AccuTree HR Consulting is seeking a Business Development Manager for the solar power industry in Nairobi, Kenya. The role involves identifying business opportunities, building partnerships, and driving growth in the solar sector. Role Summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving growth in the solar energy sector across Kenya. This includes managing relationships with key stakeholders, expanding the client base, and contributing to the overall strategy for market penetration.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and develop new business opportunities in commercial, industrial, and residential solar energy markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitor activities.
• Lead the preparation and submission of proposals, bids, and presentations.
• Collaborate with technical and project teams to ensure client requirements are translated into deliverable solutions.
• Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for solar products and services.
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
• Monitor sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics to ensure targets are met.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, policies, and industry standards.
Skills
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in business development or sales, ideally in the energy or solar sector.
• Solid understanding of the Kenyan energy landscape, including policy, regulation, and rural electrification initiatives.
• Proven track record in driving growth and closing deals in B2B and/or B2C markets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong network within the renewable energy ecosystem in Kenya is a significant advantage.
