Zero Industrial Inc. is hiring a Business Development Associate in Charleston, SC, to support the development of thermal energy storage projects. The role involves market research, financial modeling, and client interactions. Candidates should have 5-7 years of experience in energy business development and strong communication skills. About Zero Industrial

Zero Industrial is a leading developer of industrial decarbonization projects, utilizing thermal energy storage technologies to eliminate the combustion of fossil fuels for heat and steam production at industrial facilities. Zero Industrial offers its customers a full end-to-end development solution from design and engineering to project execution and delivery. Heat generated from our projects will be sold under a Heat-as-a-Service agreement without requiring any capital investment from our customers. Zero Industrial is actively originating and developing projects in the United States and Canada and exploring additional international markets.

Role Overview

We’re seeking a Business Development Associate to support our commercial team in developing our pipeline of thermal energy storage projects in North America. This role requires a dynamic individual who is capable of supporting a range of business development priorities, including but not limited to market research, financial modeling, strategic development, client interaction, and proposal development. You will work closely with company leadership, as well as our business development and technical teams to identify, qualify, and advance opportunities in industrial decarbonization.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the business development team in identifying and qualifying industrial heat decarbonization opportunities
• Conduct market and sector research
• Support development of proposals and client presentations
• Maintain CRM and manage sales pipeline
• Collaborate with engineering, development, and execution teams
• Support development and maintenance of project models
• Identify and track key policy opportunities to support our projects

Qualifications
• 5-7 years of experience in energy business development, electricity markets, or climate infrastructure businesses
• Strong work ethic and ability to work well within a small, entrepreneurial team
• Ability to navigate and juggle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate professionally with potential customers, investors and other third parties
• Self-starter with a passion for clean energy and sustainability
• Fluency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• CRM and sales process experience preferred
• Based in or willing to relocate to Charleston, SC
• Travel within U.S. and Canada required
