Summary

We are currently recruiting for the position of Business Development – Process Electrification, based in Calgary and reporting to the General Manager, Power & Drives business unit. Your primary role will be to drive development and business growth of Spartan’s Power & Drives Business Unit in providing market leading solutions for motors, MCCs, drives and complete electrical packaging.

With significant experience in Electrification in the Industrial Process space, building trust and acting as support and subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders is essential to success in this role. You will bring a history of converting opportunity into results, achieving mutually beneficial customer relationships, excelling with a team environment, and clearly demonstrating value to customers.

Role And Responsibilities
• Be a leading industry expert in application of our core products in motor & electrical control (VFD’s, MCCs, AC Motors)
• Work to understand customer needs and deliver creative solutions to solve their unique business challenges
• Collaborate with Account Managers and Territory Managers to pursue business across our Sales Territory
• Help to develop account leadership through effective strategic account planning & development and commitment to strong customer relationships
• Prepare and provide technical product and application presentations to external and internal stakeholders
• Assist customers in developing technical specifications for products & projects
• Provide effective forecasting of business opportunities for Business Unit products and Spartan resources
• Advance collaborative working relationships with Sales, Operations, and broader Spartan teams to help develop our business
• Develop and sustain relationships with Principal Suppliers, Customers and Spartan’s management team
• Collaborate closely with our Principal Suppliers on new product development and provide input on opportunities for value added solutions
• Provide an exceptional customer experience through team selling, accountability, mutual respect, collaboration and a do-what-it-takes attitude

Qualifications And Skills
• Instrumentation, Technologist or P.Eng. credentials. Electrical discipline(s) preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive industry experience. Technical and customer facing experience are assets
• Direct experience working with Variable Frequency Drives, AC Motors and/or Motor Control Centers is preferred
• Experience working in multiple Territory locations, Sales/BD roles, related business segments is an asset
• Strong ‘Customer First’ focus
• Demonstrated ability to set goals and organize resources, meet deadlines and to adapt to changing circumstances
• Demonstrated ability to support others through a positive and encouraging approach
• Demonstrated competency collaborating with peers and other stakeholders
• Strategic and conceptual thinker with a practical “get it done” approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced team environment
