Business Developer

Air Liquide is seeking a Business Developer in Alberton, South Africa, to assist with market analysis, identify key accounts, and promote welding and cutting products. Responsibilities include supporting sales with technical demonstrations, advising on pricing trends, managing product trials, and collaborating with procurement on inventory. Candidates should have a welding coordination qualification and at least 3 years of experience in the fabrication industry.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Assist the W&C Business Developer (BD) with analysis of hardgoods market share by player, region,product, market segment. Identify and target Key Accounts inline with the business line revenue and gross margin target ambitions.

Assist the W&C BD with short to medium term planning of market needs versus AL’s portfolio (Product Mix).

Promote the various Air Liquide Welding & Cutting market propositions and offers.
• Assist the Welding & Cutting Business Developer with development and then roll out a value added Hard Goods offer to the market.
• Support sales team with technical demonstrations and assist with offer preparation.
• Advise the Welding & Cutting Business Developer on market pricing trends and required market pricing to go to market with Air Liquide product portfolio. (Price Mix)
• Introduce and manage process of introducing Air Liquide Hard Goods offer to targeted Hard Goods accounts if not already a Air Liquide customer
• Identify and communicate market trends & needs to assist in developing new offers.
• Support sales team with demonstrations and value added offers.
• Support existing customers with technical troubleshooting and solutions
• Maintain contact with technical institutions and research centers in order to increase and promote market awareness.
• Plan and conduct product offering trials and demonstration in order to prove the technical feasibility and economic viability of proposed new products/applications/services.
• Evaluate the technical feasibility and economic viability of new products / services with the welding and cutting markets.
• Maintain contact with major players in the industry in order to identify, analyze and exploit new opportunities that may arise.
• Identify and monitor all major infrastructure projects in progress.
• Collaborate with the Stores / Procurement to develop, forecast, manage and replenish the hardgoods inventory at various store locations

Educational requirements
• A Welding Coordination Qualification (IWE / IWT / IWS)
• An Engineering or Sales / Marketing degree would be beneficial

Experience
• A minimum of 3 years experience in the general fabrication industry with emphasis in the welding and cutting domain.

Knowledge and Know-how specific to the job
• Industrial welding and cutting expertise
