Job Description
Biodiversity Australia is seeking casual Bush Regen/Restoration and Vegetation Management Team Members for fieldwork in North Queensland. Responsibilities include land conservation tasks like weed control and planting. Candidates should be physically fit, have a valid driver's license, and be able to work unsupervised. About The Opportunity
We currently have exciting opportunities for Bush Regen/Restoration & Vegetation Management Field Team Members for multiple casual positions.
Within numerous projects in North Queensland, you will assist in various aspects of land conservation including weed control, planting and equipment maintenance. This position is always in the field therefore you must be happy to work in a variety of weather conditions.
We will provide you with ongoing mentoring and support to help you achieve your career goals and unleash your passion for Land Management.
About You
To be successful in the role, the following are desirable but not essential:
• Certificate I or II in Conservation Land Management
• Experience/ interest in identification of both native flora and invasive species
• Chemical application accreditation/ ACDC Licence
• General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• 4WD and towing experience or tickets
• Ability to read a map
• Relevant tickets or experience with the operation and maintenance of equipment such as zero-turn mowers, chainsaws, brush-cutters, and tractors
The Following Are Required
• Unrestricted Car Licence
• Ability to pass a police check
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Be physically fit and able to undertake labour intensive work
• Be reliable, hard working and have a strong safety culture
