Job description

Are you passionate about optimizing buildings for better energy performance, sustainability, and comfort? CopperTree Analytics is on a mission to revolutionize the built environment with cutting-edge analytics and fault detection tools. Join us, and be part of a dynamic team that’s reshaping how we manage and understand building systems!

Why Join CopperTree Analytics?

At CopperTree Analytics, you’re not just taking on a job; you’re joining a movement to make buildings smarter, greener, and more efficient. Here’s why we’re different:

Innovation First: Our tools and technologies lead the industry in analytics and fault detection.

Team Spirit: Collaborate with like-minded professionals who value creativity, ownership, and camaraderie.

Impact: Your work will directly help reduce energy consumption and improve operational efficiency across the globe.

What You’ll Be Doing (aka Your Day-to-Day Superpowers)
• Dive into the heart of buildings: map and analyze HVAC systems using sequences of operation, mechanical drawings, and BAS (Building Automation System) data.
• Configure and fine-tune our FDD platform to detect faults and inefficiencies in building equipment.
• Review analytics results with eagle-eyed precision to ensure accurate reporting of energy savings and system performance.
• Collaborate with deployment teams to resolve configuration issues and optimize the onboarding process for new projects.
• Communicate findings with flair—whether through presentations, reports, or a quick email that gets straight to the point.
• Stay curious and always be learning: keep up-to-date with the latest software tools, standards, and best practices.

Who You Are (The Ideal Teammate)
• You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Science, or a related field—or equivalent real-world experience.
• You bring 5-10 years of experience in HVAC systems, BAS controls, or analytics platforms, with a knack for understanding how complex systems work. Open to candidates with less experience for junior positions.
• BAS protocols (BACnet, Haystack API, Modbus) don’t scare you; they excite you.
• You are organized, detail-oriented, and love solving puzzles (especially when they’re HVAC-related).
• Communication is your superpower—technical or otherwise, you make it easy for others to understand.
• You thrive in collaborative environments but are also a self-starter who can run solo projects like a pro.

Bonus Points If:
• You’ve dabbled in fault detection and diagnostics platforms.
• You have experience designing or commissioning building systems in higher education, healthcare, or life sciences.

Perks of Working With Us
• Flexible work options (because life happens).
• Ongoing training and development programs to level up your skills.
• A team that celebrates wins together—big or small.
• The chance to work on meaningful projects that reduce carbon footprints and help businesses thrive sustainably.
