Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomass Plant Operator to join our team. As a key member of the operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of renewable energy at our biomass plant.

Key Responsibilities:
• Fiber Handling: Monitor and control all incoming fiber, managing drying processes and production of pellets, and movement of pellets into railcars.
• Safety Procedures: Ensure compliance with safety protocols, communicating any concerns directly to plant employees or to the Plant Leadership team.
• Housekeeping Standards: Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the department.
• Chemical Use: Utilize SDS for all chemicals used in production, training all employees on their use.
• Safety Training Programs: Complete all required safety training and participate in regular OH&S Committee meetings.
• Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with all employees through the Pellet manufacturing process, promoting compliance with Safety, Production, Quality, and operating policies and procedures.
• Leadership Roles: Lead and direct plant employees during times of upset conditions, including unsafe conditions or emergency evacuations.
• Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot minor and major upset conditions, providing direction to plant employees.
• Training and Support: Provide technical training support and mentorship to peers and Operators in the Plant Operator Development Program.
• Incident Investigation: Participate in incident and accident investigations, as required.
• Holiday Coverage: Coordinate holiday planning to ensure continual coverage of necessary positions within the plant.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with other management teams, including HR, Safety, Training, and Senior Executives.
