Bio Fuel Oil Trading Specialist

Taylor James Resourcing is hiring a Bio Fuel Oil Trading Specialist in London. The role involves sourcing and trading bio products, liaising with US traders, providing pricing input, and hedging bio stocks. We are seeking an experienced Bio Fuel Trader for a leading Energy Producing and Trading firm based in Canary Wharf.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Sourcing and trading off Bio products for the refinery and European supply business, including FAME, Ethanol & HVO.
• Liaising with US Bio traders to determine product placement strategies for HVO and advanced bio fuel products and potential arbitrages.
• Providing input into Retail and wholesale on Bio forward pricing for long term sales contracts.
• Hedging of bio stocks.

Key responsibilities include:
• Covering distillate and gasoline traders as part of a small products trading team.
• Evaluating markets and market trends and communicating with other team members.
• Hedging of stocks.
• Other trading related tasks as required.

We require a self-starting team player who can assume considerable responsibilities in a pressurised environment. The ideal candidate will be able to make decisions, grasp concepts quickly, have an eye for detail and influence those around them.

Education/Competencies/Skills/Experience:
• Degree qualified (chemical engineer, economic or business qualification).
• Good understanding of Bio markets, particularly bio diesel and HVO, to a lesser extent bio ethanol.
• Extremely commercially orientated with sound business judgement.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task in a dynamic high-pressure team environment.
• Ability to trade with third parties to maximise value.
• Innovative outlook with a real desire to move the business forward.
• Flexible approach to working hours is vital to accommodate the significant variation in workloads associated with a busy trading operation.
• Good understanding of global trade flows for biofuels and financial instruments used to hedge products, components and arb flows.
• Excellent proven track record and strong drive towards future success.
