Bike Mechanic

Upway is seeking a full-time Bike Mechanic for their Los Angeles UpCenter in Redondo Beach, CA. The mechanic will repair and refurbish a variety of e-bikes, ensuring high quality for customers. Responsibilities include independent repairs, team collaboration, and process improvement. Candidates should have expertise in bike mechanics and a passion for excellence. Upway is a fast growing startup building the largest marketplace for refurbished e-bikes globally. We are looking for a Bike Mechanic for our Los Angeles UpCenter. The mechanic team repairs a large number of different used e-bikes and refurbishes them to excellent condition, providing Upway’s customers with a high-quality and vast e-bike selection.

As a mechanic, you will carry out the entire repair process of an e-bike and ensure that the bikes are delivered of excellent quality. You will work with your teammates in a well-equipped UpCenter in Los Angeles, dealing with e-bikes only. Due to the large selection of different e-bikes (mountain bikes, city bikes, cargo bikes; fast-growing used to almost new), the job remains varied and highly challenging. What you will do:
• You repair e-bikes independently with everything that goes with it (reception, inspection, fault finding, spare parts selection, repair, quality control)
• Together with your team, you prepare e-bikes for delivery to our customers and keep the existing fleet in good shape
• You work on constantly improving our service and our e-bikes
• You become an essential part of our team and bring in your ideas for optimizing our repair process

What you will need
• You have thorough expertise in bike mechanics.
• You have a passion for excellence and enjoy working thoroughly and independently
• You enjoy trying out new repair processes and their continuous improvement
• You have decent knowledge of English

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
