Responsibilities
• Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.

• Lead field survey crews for bat survey projects throughout the United States
,
• Conduct surveys and field data collection, processing, and analysis, primarily for bats, but occasionally for other resources (wetland delineations, Phase I ESAs, constraints analysis, feasibility studies, etc.)
,
• Use topographic maps, aerial photographs, GPS units, tablets (Field Maps and Survey 123), and other tools (remote sensing, thermal imagery, near infrared, DNA analysis) to collect, determine, and interpret field collected data
,
• Conduct pedestrian surveys and drive 4WD vehicles and UTVs in rugged terrain
,
• Conduct habitat assessments and site characterization studies
,
• Prepare reports and study plans describing survey methodologies and results
,
• Responsible for developing written proposals to clients for approval by senior level professionals.

• Assist with Endangered Species Act compliance coordination with State and Federal Agencies
,
• May assist more senior scientists/engineers on large, more complex projects.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related science field and a minimum of 3 years' related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years' related experience.

• USFWS Section 10(a)1A USFWS Recovery Permit and experience with Indiana, Gray, and Northern Long-Eared Bat
,
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
