Job Description

CHS Industrial Plant Equipment Trading LLC is seeking a Business Development Engineer in Dubai to drive sales in energy efficiency and carbon management solutions. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, engaging clients, and generating leads through direct outreach and networking. The position requires a proactive approach to build relationships with industrial and commercial clients while collaborating with internal engineering teams for project execution. ROLE SUMMARY

We have built a new Energy & Sustainability Engineering Division within our company focused on helping industrial and commercial clients reduce energy consumption, improve operational efficiency, and manage carbon emissions.

We have partnered with some of the best companies globally for supporting this division:

● ESCON Turkey’s first and oldest Energy services company.

● CONSERVE One of India’s oldest and most reputable Carbon solutions management and reporting consultancy.

We are looking for a sales-driven engineer or technical professional who can identify opportunities, engage clients, and generate new business related to energy audits, industrial efficiency improvements, and carbon management solutions.

This role focuses primarily on business development and client engagement, while our internal engineering team and partners will support technical analysis and project execution.

With the UAE government’s mandate on energy consumption reduction, Net Zero 2050, carbon emissions reduction - this role will have large growth opportunities within the company and the successful candidate will benefit from a significant career boost as we grow.

● The successful candidate is expected to proactively open doors, build a qualified pipeline, identify commercially viable opportunities, and convert client interest into billable projects.

● This is not a passive relationship-management role; it requires a commercially hungry individual who is comfortable creating momentum through direct outreach, meetings, follow-up, and structured opportunity development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development

● Identify and develop new business opportunities related to energy efficiency, industrial optimization, and carbon management.

● Generate leads through direct outreach, networking, and industry engagement.

● Build relationships with facility managers, plant managers, sustainability teams, and operations leaders.

● Develop a strong pipeline of energy optimization and decarbonization opportunities.

● Proactively generate your own meetings and opportunities rather than depending primarily on management-fed leads.

● Build and maintain a target list of industrial and commercial prospects across priority sectors in the UAE.

● Develop relationships with key referral and influence channels such as consultants, contractors, service providers, and project stakeholders where relevant.

Client Engagement

● Meet with industrial and commercial clients to understand energy usage challenges and sustainability goals.

● Identify potential opportunities related to:

o Energy performance assessments

o Industrial energy optimization

o Compressed air systems

o Cooling systems

o Energy monitoring systems

o Carbon emissions reporting

● Ask commercially intelligent discovery questions to understand not only the technical problem, but also the cost impact, operational impact, urgency, decision-making process, and financial justification for action.

● Identify the key stakeholders influencing each opportunity, including technical users, operations teams, plant leadership, finance, procurement, and sustainability decision-makers where applicable.

Opportunity Development

● Coordinate development of energy audits, savings calculations, and project proposals in co-ordination with our backend engineering team.

● Present energy-saving solutions and financial benefits to clients.

● Translate technical findings into clear commercial value propositions for the client.

● Help quantify client ROI by linking proposed solutions to energy savings, operating cost reduction efficiency improvement, emissions reduction, and strategic sustainability goals.

● Ensure opportunities are properly qualified before committing excessive engineering and proposal resources.

Proposal & Sales Process

● Manage the sales process from opportunity identification to project award.

● Present technical and commercial proposals to clients.

● Negotiate project scope and commercial terms.

● Maintain structured follow-up throughout the full sales cycle to avoid delays, loss of momentum, or stalled proposals.

● Coordinate internally with engineering, management, and commercial support teams to ensure timely proposal submission and professional client communication.

● Maintain clear visibility of opportunity stage, next action, commercial risk, and likelihood of closure.

Market Development

● Identify emerging opportunities in carbon reporting and decarbonization strategies.

● Track market trends related to energy efficiency and sustainability regulations.

● Help position the company as a trusted energy solutions partner.

● Monitor changes in UAE sustainability legislation, market incentives, and industrial energy priorities that may create new sales opportunities.

● Feed relevant market intelligence back to management and team to support strategic positioning, partner engagement, and solution development.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

● 3–6 years’ experience in energy services, energy audits, industrial engineering, HVAC, utilities, or sustainability solutions.

● ESCO experience is ideal.

● Experience in technical sales or business development is mandatory.

● Understanding of industrial energy systems such as:

o compressed air

o cooling systems

o pumps and motors

o electrical systems

● Basic understanding of energy consumption and carbon emissions relationships.

● UAE driving license mandatory.

● Ability to build and manage a qualified sales pipeline independently.

● Comfortable discussing both technical and financial value with customer stakeholders.

● Able to coordinate multiple opportunities in parallel without losing follow-up discipline.

● Experience presenting business cases, savings logic, or ROI-oriented proposals is highly beneficial.

PREFERRED (ADVANTAGEOUS / NOT MANDATORY)

● Arabic language proficiency.

● Mechanical/electrical/sustainability engineering degree.

● Candidates with strong industrial experience sales experience will also be considered.

o Demonstrate disciplined reporting and documentation habits to support effective sales management.

● Develop relationships with relevant industrial and commercial decision-makers in the UAE market.

● Establish yourself as a credible technical-commercial advisor in the energy and sustainability space.
