Ameresco is seeking a BESS Site Manager for three locations in Southern California. The role involves overseeing site safety, compliance, and daily operations of Battery Energy Storage Systems. Responsibilities include maintenance, reporting, managing equipment operations, and collaborating with various stakeholders. Candidates should have a STEM degree and extensive experience in power operations and renewable energy. The position requires frequent travel and 24/7 on-call support.

Battery Energy Storage System
( BESS) Site Manager
to join our team in Southern California. The BESS Site Manager will have responsibility for site safety, compliance, and reliability and will conduct the daily operations and maintenance activities for the facility associated with (3) BESS sites at Rancho Cucamonga, Long Beach, and Springville, CA.Responsibilities:Perform and direct daily operation, maintenance, and repair of BESS sites.Follow Standard Operating and Safety Procedures for site start-up and shut down.Collaborate with the customer, vendor, and internal Construction and Field Operations Managers to coordinate and schedule project and internal trade alignment meetings, as well as site planning subcontractor activities (on-site repair, replacement, and preventative maintenance).Responsible for daily reporting to Operations Director and customer representatives for all onsite activities and risk management.Manage all aspects of BESS equipment, cybersecurity, and operations. Ensure safe and optimal facility operations.Prepare and maintain all required reports; work within a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track, schedule, and generate reports. Track Key performance indicators for site production and vendor performance.Remote and on-site expert level analysis and interpretation of data from Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, as well as other integrated data acquisition systems and devices. The ability to utilize this data to recommend remediation steps involving collaboration with internal personnel, customers, and vendors is required.Obtain and maintain customer qualifications.Will travel frequently to sites and provide 24/7 ‘on call’ support availability or varied schedule needs to support all alerts, alarms, vendors, and site operations.Establish cooperative working environment and practices. Ensure all project personnel act professionally while interacting with internal and external individuals.Stay within operating parameters set by Supervisor and notify management of any production problems.Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Energy Management, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.Minimum of 7 years of experience in power operations & maintenance management in utility-scale and/or C&I settings.Minimum 5 years of experience in renewable energy industry (BESS, PV, Wind).Ability to review confidential US security information.Valid driver’s license issued by state of residence and in good standing.Additional Qualifications:Must be able to travel to sites and 24/7 ‘on call’ support is required. Occasional overnight travel may be necessary.Proficient in remotely identifying issues and providing resolution recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.Experienced in interfacing with relevant OEM vendors for solutions and site mobilizations.Skilled in utilizing data to recommend remediation steps involving both internal and external personnel.Advanced experience developing maintenance schedules, planning/performing/supervising industrial electrical operations and maintenance personnel, vendor representatives, and internal/external personnel.Advanced experience and understanding of BESS systems, PV and BESS inverters, and industrial controls and operations required.Advanced knowledge of electricity, both AC and DC, Arc Flash Hazards, and electrical and electronic testing equipment.Strong verbal, written, computer communication, and organizational skills.Company Description:Ameresco, Inc.
