Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a BESS Engineer - Battery Sizing and Design located in Delhi. The ideal candidate will have min 5+years of experience in battery sizing, battery design, and the integration of other essential components in large-scale energy storage systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal sizing, design, and performance of battery systems that meet client requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and size battery systems for large-scale energy storage projects, ensuring compatibility with electrical grid requirements and optimal performance over the lifespan of the system.
• Perform simulations and calculations to assess battery sizing for different use cases (e.g., peak shaving, load shifting, frequency regulation).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and integrate other components of the BESS, including power conversion systems (PCS), energy management systems (EMS), thermal management, and protection devices.
• Conduct performance analysis of battery cells, modules, and systems. Utilize software tools for battery modeling and simulation to optimize performance and longevity.
• Provide technical expertise during project planning, procurement, installation, and commissioning stages. Support project managers with technical assessments, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure all battery storage systems comply with national and international standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Conduct failure analysis and recommend improvements for better system reliability and safety.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in BESS and energy storage. Apply this knowledge to improve designs and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of electrical components such as battery management systems (BMS), inverters, chargers, and protection relays.
• Familiarity with energy management systems (EMS) and SCADA.
• Understanding of electrical safety standards and grid codes.
• Knowledge of battery lifecycle management and performance optimization.

Qualifications
• Design Engineering and Mechanical Engineering skills
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
• Electrical Engineering knowledge

• Experience in battery sizing and design
• Knowledge of energy storage systems
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
