Overview:
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Utah State University is seeking a tenure-track or tenured faculty member in Transportation Engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a high-quality research program, teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses, and provide meaningful service to the university and the profession. Responsibilities:
• Develop a high-quality research program with a focus on transportation engineering, including traffic operations, freight transportation, public transportation systems, transportation electrification, transportation network modeling, connected and autonomous vehicles, and cyber-physical systems. * Conduct research and scholarship that is consistently productive, sustainable, and nationally recognized for excellence. * Obtain extramural funding to support a vibrant research program. * Produce peer-reviewed publications and other impactful dissemination activities. * Recruit and mentor graduate and undergraduate students. * Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in fundamental areas related to transportation, and develop graduate-level courses in the candidate's specific area of research emphasis. * Provide meaningful service to Utah State University, the citizens of Utah, and the profession. Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate degree in Civil Engineering or a field closely related to transportation. * Demonstrated ability to conduct and disseminate research in transportation. * Evidence of emerging research stream(s) and publications in transportation-related areas. * Ability to effectively teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in fundamental areas related to transportation. * Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
