Job Description

Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group is hiring an Associate Environmental Planner in Clovis, Visalia, or Bakersfield, CA. The role involves research, document preparation, and technical analysis related to environmental planning, requiring a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Candidates should be collaborative, organized, and possess strong writing skills. Familiarity with California environmental laws is essential.

Summary

Provost & Pritchard is seeking qualified staff to assist in our Planning Division. Duties will vary with the level of experience but may include research and data collection from a variety of sources, assisting in preparation of documents, coordinating public noticing and document distribution, and performing technical analyses at the direction of supervisory-level planning staff. Will work with agencies and other clients on environmental document preparation and interpretation of California laws and local codes applicable to planning projects. We are looking for a candidate that places a high value on collaboration, timely delivery of quality products, and a desire to learn and grow.

Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in planning or related field (Environmental Studies, Geography, Biology, Geology, Environmental Science)
• Minimum 3 years experience drafting or reviewing environmental review and analysis documents
• Working knowledge of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) is required. Familiarity with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is a plus, but not required
• Ability to conduct research, including finding and citing reliable information from various sources to support environmental analysis
• Intellectual curiosity and ability to critically think through a variety of issues and identify potential solutions related to environmental analysis
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently
• Strong technical writing skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Solid working knowledge of Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook (Microsoft 365) program
