Job Description
IQVIA is seeking an Associate Director for Supplier Relationships & Consulting Sales in South Africa. The role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, sourcing new data suppliers, and overseeing supplier payments. Key responsibilities include supporting internal teams, enhancing data supply strategies, and providing analytical insights to suppliers. Candidates should have a healthcare-related degree and over 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector.
Role Purpose:
Manages senior relationships with various suppliers to deliver agreed upon data. Ensures supplier data quality meets standards and established expectations and consults with suppliers to provide and sell-back insights gained from supplied content.
Take responsibility for:
• Negotiating and renegotiating data supplier contract
• Investigating and sourcing potential new data suppliers
• Implementation of Feedback services to barter against fee for data to reduce cost and
• increase EBITA
• Supplier relations, connecting with data suppliers on a regular basis and relaying and coordinating any request from data suppliers
• Managing of supplier payments
• Managing the Data supply and Pharmacy Teams
Principal Accountabilities:
IQVIA Data Supply Team Management:
• Support internal commercial team with information related to data supply
• Support Data Supply and Pharmacy teams with strategy objectives
• Take responsibility for supplier payments, barter agreements
Data supply relationships management:
• Regular face to face interaction with key data suppliers to maintain critical data supply relationships, negotiation of data supply fees, identification of new data sources, contract negotiation
• Drive the activities required to set up a new data supplier i.e. FTP feeds, internal training, commercial alignment for customer communication
• Develops strategy for expanding scope of existing contracts and identifying new business opportunities.
• Leads negotiations in renewing multi-year contracts; liaises frequently with internal stakeholders to determine business capabilities and solution potential, and oversees implementation, negotiation, coordination and follow through of all contracts and information services agreements.
Provide business analytical insights to suppliers:
• Develop supplier specific feedback reports based on the suppliers needs
• Provide monthly insights to suppliers to potentially unlock additional consulting income streams
• Continuously improve feedback reports in line with dynamic market environment
• Enhance feedback reports to allow for negotiation of reduced data supply feeds
Meet with pharma clients to develop understanding of new data requirements:
• Use knowledge of data available to identify potentially new data sources or audits based on client needs
• Work with offering development and production team to develop new audits from these data sources
• Guide commercial team on the limits, usage and insights that can be gained from the new data sets
Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:
• Bachelor’s degree preferably healthcare related.
• Training in negotiation skills will be an advantage.
• >5 years experience in the pharmaceutical / healthcare environment history of successful negotiation at a senior level.
• Market Access and Commercial Pharmaceutical Experience.
• FMCG experience (Sales/Marketing/Key Account management).
• Strong understanding of the supply/logistics environment for pharmaceutical and consumer health care brands.
• Strong customer account management and servicing, communication and listening, organizational.
• analytical/problem solving, negotiating, and account development & planning/presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Pharmaceutical marketplace & industry business knowledge.
• Expertise and creativity to solve problems
