The Role

The Associate Director – Debt Origination will be responsible for sourcing, structuring, and executing debt financing for major renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

This senior role requires deep expertise in project finance, capital structuring, and lender engagement to secure optimal funding solutions. The role is highly strategic, working closely with senior leadership, investment partners, and global finance teams to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead debt origination efforts, structuring financing solutions for large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure assets
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, institutional lenders, and capital providers to secure funding
• Negotiate financing terms, ensuring optimal capital structuring and alignment with business objectives
• Conduct financial modelling, due diligence, and risk assessment to support investment decisions
• Work closely with internal stakeholders across finance, legal, and project development teams to structure deals
• Drive transaction execution, from initial structuring through to financial close
• Monitor debt market trends, regulatory developments, and investment opportunities to inform financing strategy
• Assess project risks, debt covenants, and compliance requirements to mitigate financial exposure
• Develop innovative financing solutions, including green bonds, tax equity structures, and blended finance models
• Represent the company in lender presentations, investor meetings, and industry forums
• Support broader corporate finance initiatives, including balance sheet management and capital raising strategies
Skills and Experience
• Proven experience in debt origination, project finance, or infrastructure financing within a leading bank, investment firm, or energy company
• Deep expertise in structuring and executing complex debt transactions for large-scale projects
• Strong relationships with lenders, institutional investors, and financial partners in the infrastructure and renewable energy sectors
• Advanced financial modelling, risk analysis, and transaction structuring skills
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to lead high-value financing agreements
• Expertise in debt markets, capital structuring, and financial instruments such as green bonds and tax equity financing
• Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in project finance
• Track record of successfully closing project finance transactions in energy, renewables, or infrastructure
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, presentation, and leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
