What we offer

As an integral member of the finance team, this role will predominantly focus on developing, maintaining, and supporting the financial models for operating assets, assets under construction and overall corporate valuation to monitor performance, returns and valuations of the business. This role will also manage project lender obligations post financial close including disbursement and reporting.

In particular, this role will manage the battery platform consisting of a large scale project currently under construction in Victoria, and three advanced battery assets in South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland. The three advanced battery assets are expected to commence construction in 2024 / early 2025.

What you will do

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the origination / investments team with converting financial models from investment case models to operational models to monitor construction and operational phase performance.
• Maintain, update and run asset financial models to support the assets under construction and in operation, including modelling adjustments for actual balance sheets and performance of the assets, changes in construction timelines, business valuation and returns.
• Update loan/bond/interest calculations and calculate and report compliance with lender’s financial covenants.
• Lead interactions with lenders including drawdown requests, covenant waivers, distributions, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain intimate knowledge of the project and finance documents, particularly around financial and commercial obligations.
• Cashflow management and analysis.
• Support the annual corporate valuation exercise and group-wide valuation workstreams.
• Provide input into Investment Committee and Board Papers as required.
• Support with other day-to-day finance activities including preparation of statutory and management accounts both consolidated and unconsolidated, liaising with accounting and tax advisors.
• Ad-hoc analysis and reporting as requested.

What you can offer

Required Attributes:
• Financial modelling (strong excel skills, including financial modelling best practice principles and standards). At least one to three years experience in building and/or reviewing financial models for project finance / complex transactions / asset or business valuations.
• Experience in at least one of the following areas is preferred - power industry, project finance or business valuation.
• Previous experience with project finance lending agreements will be viewed favourably.
• Accounting experience / qualification preferred and good knowledge and experience of reviewing, preparing and analysing financial statements.
• Commercial awareness and acumen.
• Communication, team-work and relationship building.
• Detail oriented.
• Resilient, tenacious and achievement focused.
• Presentation skills – formally and informally in different settings.
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently interact with senior management and colleagues.
• Exposure to a diversity of renewable energy and storage projects across the NEM.
