Job Description
The Clean Energy Finance Corporation in Sydney is seeking an Associate - Research to support clean energy and decarbonisation research and analysis. Responsibilities include preparing research materials, analyzing data, and engaging with stakeholders to enhance CEFC's strategic initiatives. Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and a desire to learn about clean energy technologies and decarbonisation.

About the opportunity
The Associate - Research supports the research and analysis of current and emerging clean energy and decarbonisation opportunities for the CEFC’s origination activities, and strategic planning process as well as external stakeholder engagement.
The role involves a wide variety of research and analytical projects related to climate change, clean energy, sustainability and decarbonisation, including projects related to a range of different sectors, such as electricity, transport, industry, the built environment and natural capital.
The role you will play
As an Associate – Research, you will be responsible for:
• Assisting with preparing research and analysis materials (such as market reports, presentations and models) in relation to current and emerging clean energy and decarbonisation opportunities, focusing on the CEFC’s identified strategic priorities
• Deliver research and analysis to support CEFC’s engagement with internal strategic priorities and private and public sectors partners
• Assist with building the profile and reputation of the CEFC by providing research content for CEFC external communications
• Scan news and trends in clean energy and low emissions sectors for weekly updates
• Analyse complex data sets and produce visualisations to convey a clear understanding of key trends
• Present research to CEFC staff, clients and other stakeholders
• Support senior research team members in researching potential investment sectors
• Assist with engagement in regulatory processes that are relevant to CEFC’s role and expertise
• Assist with maintaining subscription research services and sharing insights across the organisation
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Minimum 3 years’ work experience in research or analysis in a relevant area, such as clean energy, low emissions technology or investment
• Experience in interpreting and analysing a diverse range of complex material to produce clear and accurate research outcomes
• Demonstrated experience in summarising research and analysis in written and verbal forms to make complex subjects easily understood
• Knowledge of, or a strong desire to learn about, decarbonisation concepts, clean energy technology, energy markets and innovative finance solutions
• Proven quantitative, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Advanced excel skills and ability to visualise data to communicate insights (skills in other tools such as Power BI, Tableau or R desirable)
• Excellent attention to detail and advanced verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Well-developed time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines with varying priorities
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes
