West Virginia University is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Associate Professor in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation at its Beckley campus. Description
The West Virginia University Institute of Technology at Beckley (WVU Tech), a divisional four-year campus of West Virginia University (WVU), is currently seeking applications for an Associate Professor in Civil Engineering position. The nine-month contract position is full-time, tenure-track, and benefits-eligible.

Responsibilities include teaching basic engineering courses, as well as civil engineering courses such as Transportation Engineering, Highway Engineering, Integrated Civil Engineering Design, Surveying, and upper-level elective transportation engineering courses. Additional duties may include research opportunities with the West Virginia Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, or similar funding agencies, as well as other auxiliary duties associated with a faculty position in an ABET-accredited civil engineering program.

Qualifications
• A doctoral degree in Civil Engineering with a transportation emphasis, or a closely related field, is required.
• An ABD status will be considered for the assistant professor rank, though the doctoral degree must be awarded within the first year of employment.
• Commitment to teaching excellence, responsiveness to student needs, and good communication skills are essential.
• Interest in scholarship/research, service to the university and the profession, and developing relationships with the consulting industry and public entities such as the West Virginia Department of Highways are also essential.
• Minimum 5 years relevant industry experience in transportation planning and/or engineering is desirable.
• To be considered at the Associate Professor rank, applicants must have a minimum of five years of higher education teaching experience or equivalent.
