About the position

The Assistant Renewable Energy Technician at Dominion Energy is responsible for the operations and maintenance of renewable energy and battery storage facilities. This role involves performing a variety of tasks in outdoor environments, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations, and developing skills for potential advancement in Renewable Operations and Maintenance.

Responsibilities
• Ensure safety and environmental rules and regulations are observed.
,
• Perform planned and corrective maintenance at renewable energy and battery storage sites.
,
• Assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting.
,
• Safely operate company vehicles.
,
• Perform site and environmental walkdowns on a weekly or more frequent basis.
,
• Oversee work performed by third-party vendors.
,
• Operate various types of equipment used in the construction process.

Requirements
• 0-3 years of experience in the renewable energy field or in commercial/industrial electrical or I&C fields with familiarity of solar renewables.

• Lift up to 75 pounds regularly and carry up to 60 pounds.
,
• Ability to work on ladders and walk significant distances.
,
• Must be on call for overtime (nights, weekends, and holidays) and respond quickly for emergent restorations.
,
• Use electrical maintenance and hand tools.
,
• Operate company vehicles on public roadways.
,
• Computer application aptitude (Microsoft Office, Work Management Systems, SCADA systems, etc.).
,
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
,
• Successful completion of company-provided training program.
,
• Must be at least 18 years old with a GED or high school diploma.
,
• A valid driver's license is required.
