Georgia Green Energy Services LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for Electrical Construction in Atlanta, GA. The role involves overseeing complex electrical projects in aviation and data centers, managing installation of power systems, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree, 5+ years of experience in electrical project management, and relevant certifications (NETA/NICET). Proficiency in project management tools is required.
Job Summary
The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of complex electrical construction projects in aviation, data centers, mission-critical facilities, and high-load commercial environments. This role demands experience in managing power distribution systems, UPS systems, backup generators, switchgear, and electrical commissioning.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of NETA and/or NICET certifications, data center industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute Tier levels, TIA-942, NFPA 70E, NEC, IEEE), and experience working in high-reliability environments where uptime is critical.
Key Responsibilities
Project Assistant & Management
•Oversee the full project lifecycle of aviation, data center and mission-critical electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget completion.
•Manage the installation of electrical distribution systems, MV/LV switchgear, power transformers, and emergency backup systems.
•Assistant cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, subcontractors, and commissioning agents.
•Develop and implement risk management strategies for high-reliability electrical installations.
•Ensure strict adherence to NETA/NICET standards, NEC, and NFPA 70E requirements for electrical safety and reliability.
Scheduling & Documentation
•Create, update, and manage project schedules using Primavera P6 and other project management tools.
•Coordinate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met.
•Ensure proper documentation of electrical system designs, as-built drawings, load calculations, and testing reports.
Financial & Contract Administration
•Develop project budgets, track costs, and provide financial forecasting.
•Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.•Ensure cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.
Safety & Quality Assurance
•Enforce compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and data center safety regulations.
•Conduct electrical system testing, commissioning, and quality assurance inspections.
•Work closely with NETA-certified testing firms for power system validation.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
•Serve as the primary liaison between GGES and data center operators, engineers, and facility managers.
•Conduct presentations and technical discussions with clients and stakeholders.
•Ensure smooth communication between internal teams and third-party commissioning authorities.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
•5+ years of experience in electrical project management (preferably in data centers, industrial, or mission-critical infrastructure).
•Proven experience in managing large-scale electrical power distribution systems, switchgear, and emergency power solutions.
•NETA Level II or III certification preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
•NICET Level III or IV certification in Electrical Power Testing is highly desirable.
•Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other scheduling software.
Technical Skills
•Strong understanding of Uptime Institute Tier Standards, TIA-942, NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards.
•Experience with load calculations, short circuit analysis, and coordination studies.
•Knowledge of SCADA, power monitoring systems, and building automation is a plus.
•Familiarity with commissioning processes for data center electrical systems.
Soft Skills & Competencies
•Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in high-pressure environments.
•Ability to Assistant teams and coordinate between multiple stakeholders.
•Exceptional communication skills for client interactions and technical reporting.
•Willingness to travel and work in mission-critical facility environments.
Work Environment & Conditions
•Location: Based in Atlanta, GA, with potential travel for project execution.
•Schedule: Full-time, with availability for overtime, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed.
•Physical Requirements: Ability to walk large job sites, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
•Security Clearance: Must pass a background check for access to secure data center environments.
