About the position
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Colorado State University (CSU) is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level. This role is designed for candidates with a robust background and research interests in areas such as Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, Sustainable Water Resources Management, Environmental Pollution Control and Remediation, Circular Economy and Resource Recovery, and Urban Sustainability and Resilience. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an internationally recognized, externally funded research program that addresses interdisciplinary research problems and complements the current activities within the department. The application of advanced AI tools in these areas will be viewed favorably. In addition to research, the position requires a commitment to teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses relevant to civil and environmental engineering. The candidate will provide intellectual leadership and excellence in teaching, engaging students and mentoring them effectively. The role also includes service and outreach responsibilities, contributing to CSU's engagement efforts and pursuing scholarly activities that serve the academic community. The CEE Department at CSU is recognized nationally and internationally for its research, education, and service programs, and is ranked among the top 40 CEE programs in the USA. The department comprises a diverse group of faculty and researchers who collaborate across various disciplines, enhancing the educational and research environment. The position is fully in-office, located in Fort Collins, Colorado, a city known for its high quality of life and vibrant community.
Responsibilities
• Provide intellectual leadership and excellence in teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses relevant to civil and environmental engineering.

Requirements
• Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering or a closely related field by the start date.
