Job Description
The Wildlife Trust of India is seeking an Assistant/Field Officer (Biologist) in Bihar, India. Candidates should have a Master's in Marine Biology or related fields and 0-5 years of experience. Responsibilities include managing a marine wet-laboratory, assessing marine life, installing biorocks, and conducting field activities. The role also involves project management, financial compliance, and external communication. This is a full-time position, not remote.
Qualification Requirement
Masters in Marine Biology/Environmental Studies/Wildlife Biology/Life Sciences
Experience Required
0-5 years
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the marine wet-laboratory, ensuring all equipment is operational and safe.
Assess the health and development of corals and marine life and analyse the data collected
Undertake the installation of the biorocks, its periodic inspection and maintenance
Undertake the construction and monitoring of artificial reefs and coral gardens.
Conduct other field activities in line with the activities planned
Project Management
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and statutory diving requirements.
Collaborate with all the project team members to coordinate tasks and responsibilities, ensuring implementation, clear communication and accountability.
Fund & Financial Management
Ensure all financial transactions comply with organizational policies and statutory requirements.
Coordinate with the finance department to ensure timely disbursement of funds and reconciliation of accounts.
Provide inputs and ideas to the Project Manager for the preparation of funding proposals and grant applications.
External Communication / Co-ordination
Work in collaboration with the Communications Division for the development of content for social media platforms, the project website, newsletters and other digital channels based on the activities being undertaken.
MIS & Reports
Collect, organise and maintain records of all the project related data and documents for repository and inventory purposes.
Prepare donor reports and coordinate donor visits to project sites and any other donor servicing that may be required,
