Goldman Sachs is hiring an Associate for its Asset & Wealth Management team in Bengaluru, focusing on Emerging Markets Equities Research. Equities Investment Team has a long history of providing investors with a broad suite of equity strategies that span investment styles, strategies, regions and market caps. The team leverages the breadth and depth of intellectual capital across GSAM's global platform while benefitting from the local insights, deep expertise and focused research of our investment teams. The team employs a forward-looking research-driven approach, focusing on active and fundamental security selection within the Indian equities market, that is grounded in disciplined risk management.

Role

A successful candidate must demonstrate commitment to a team-oriented culture and a strong enthusiasm for investment research. Financial modeling, communication, and research skills, as well as an outstanding critical thinking mindset are key to the role. The Bengaluru-based team is a fully- integrated front-office investing function, operating on an equal footing to peer teams globally.

Core Responsibilities
• Research Analyst team in Bangalore would be part of the India Fundamental Equities Investment Team in Bengaluru, and will assist senior analysts within Emerging Markets (EM)
• The role will involve analyzing financial statements, the industry, and competitive landscape, and evaluate company management; analyze market share, macro trends and other affecting factors; build and maintain financial models with focus on key business drivers and valuation
• Research and develop views on macro and micro-level investment issues, individual stocks / sectors within EMs

Basic Qualifications
• 3 -5 years of experience in an investment related or banking role and a demonstrable interest in investment research
• Knowledge of Emerging / Indian Equtiy markets/sectors is a distinct advantage
• Strong financial modeling and communication skills (oral and written)
• Solid accounting and finance knowledge
• Well organized with the initiative to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and strong drive to problem solve creatively
• CFA study (at any level) a plus
