Job Description

SPIN Global is seeking an Architect for Environmental/Urban Planning in Raleigh, NC. The role involves conducting site inspections, preparing architectural plans, evaluating structures for FEMA funding, and collaborating with project teams. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field, with relevant experience and certifications. Proficiency in architectural software and knowledge of building codes is required. This is a full-time onsite position.
SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).

Responsibilities
• Conduct architectural site inspections in compliance with FEMA's Public Assistance Programs and guidelines.
• Prepare architectural plans and designs that meet local, state, and federal codes and standards.
• Evaluate damaged structures and infrastructure to determine eligibility for FEMA funding.
• Collaborate with project teams, including engineers and program delivery managers, to create comprehensive recovery solutions.
• Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage project documentation and maintain transparency in reporting.
• Provide technical expertise on determination memorandums, appeals, and program delivery processes.
• Stay current with FEMA's policies, including IS-1000, IS-1001, IS-1002, and related course content.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or a related field with:
• 5 years of experience and professional registration (e.g., Registered Architect (RA), Architect Registration Examination (ARE), or equivalent) or
• 10 years of experience in a related field.
• Certification or membership with one or more of the following:
• National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB)
• American Institute of Architects (AIA)
• Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
• IS-1000:
Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
• IS-1001:
The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
• IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal – Transparency at Every Step
• IS-1004:
The FEMA Site Inspection Process
• IS-1018:
Determination Memorandums and Appeals

Program Delivery Manager
• 7117:
Site Inspection
• Proficiency in architectural software and tools.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• EOD Required.
