Job Description

TBD Architecture + Urban Planning is seeking an Architect/Sr. Architect in Edmonton, AB. This permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours/week) requires a Master's degree and experience in architectural design, project management, and client consultation. Responsibilities include generating building plans, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing construction activities. Candidates should possess relevant certifications and technical skills, with a focus on environmental sustainability and community engagement.

Education Master's degree Work setting Architectural firm Urban area Willing to relocate Tasks Adjust their designs to conform to limiting factors such as budget allocation and cost of materials Consult with clients to determine the type, style and purpose of renovations or new building construction being considered Generate building plans and detailed drawings to be used by contractors and tradespersons Manage the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in architecture or engineering projects Project management Work in limiting factors, such as town planning laws and environmental impact assessments Conceptualize and design buildings and develop plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs and construction schedules Prepare sketches and models Perform architectural research Monitor activities on construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Membership in the Provincial Association of Architects Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification offered by the Canada Green Building Council Computer and technology knowledge Adobe Photoshop MS Office AutoCAD Autodesk REVIT Sketch Up Adobe Suite InDesign Area of work experience Project coordination Architectural specialization Public buildings New construction Renovation Commercial Specialization or experience Specialized environmental skills and knowledge Area of specialization Drafting Work conditions and physical capabilities Fast-paced environment Work under pressure Tight deadlines Attention to detail Personal suitability Accurate Client focus Excellent oral communication Excellent written communication Organized Team player Flexibility Screening questions Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?
