Job Description

DESRI is seeking an Analyst/Senior Analyst – Tax Specialist for its Hyderabad office. The role involves managing tax compliance for renewable projects in the U.S., collaborating with teams in India and the U.S., and supporting tax strategy and reporting. Candidates should have a Chartered Accountant or MBA (Finance) with 12-36 months of experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Experience in U.S. taxation is preferred.

About The Role

We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join the India office of DESRI, i.e., DESRI India Private Limited, based in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be a part of the Tax team and will regularly interact with the U.S. and Hyderabad-based teams, as well as external parties. The candidate will be a part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio of wind, solar, and storage projects within a dynamic environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.

What You'll Do

In this role, you’ll oversee and manage tax compliance for existing and new renewable projects located across multiple states in the U.S. and corporate entities. You’ll be required to liaison cross-functionally to help the tax team formulate, analyze, monitor and implement strategy, compliance and finance management for direct and indirect taxes. You’ll be expected to help the tax team in tax modeling and various forms of accounting, management, and investor reporting, including partnership accounting, hypothetical liquidation at book value (HLBV) modeling, yield tracking, and budget versus actual analysis. Additionally, you’ll liaise with U.S. and Hyderabad-based deal team members, asset managers, treasury, tax team, external consultants and tax authorities for various tax related matters. You’ll be expected to periodically compute various state taxes, pay state tax authorities and address to tax notices. In addition to this, you’ll work on initiatives related to establishing, standardizing, optimizing and documenting tax processes, workflows and controls.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should–
• Hold a Chartered Accountant or Master of Business Administration (Finance) degree with 12 - 36 months of experience
• Possess exceptional attention to detail and the ability to take initiative with limited direction and guidance
• Display excellent written and spoken communication skills, and an ability to work independently with limited direction and guidance
• Candidates with experience in U.S. taxation are preferred
