Origin Energy Services Ltd is seeking an Agreements Advisor for a 12-month contract, based in either Brisbane or Chinchilla, Australia. The role involves drafting, negotiating, and managing property-related agreements for petroleum and gas activities, ensuring compliance and minimizing risks. About the role

As part of this team, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring the timely delivery of access agreements, including Conduct and Compensation Agreements, Water Agreements, Make Good Agreements, and various other property-related agreements. Operating in a dynamic environment, you'll need to be highly motivated and adaptable, contributing actively to a range of business issues.

The primary focus of this role is the drafting, negotiating, varying and renewing of property related agreements for access and commercial arrangements relating to petroleum and gas activities in compliance with organisational guidelines, as well as fulfilling statutory compliance obligations and contract governance requirements. You’ll also lead negotiations and build and manage relationships for the lifetime of operations.

This role can either be located in Brisbane (with frequent trips to sites) or Chinchilla.

More about the role:
• Drafting, negotiating, varying, and renewing property-related agreements for access and commercial arrangements related to petroleum and gas activities.
• Providing professional advice to ensure compliance and minimise risk for Origin's land access.
• Collaborating with external stakeholders, including landholder lawyers, to coordinate and review indemnity claims and additional compensation claims.
• Leading land access contractual disputes and alternate dispute resolution processes.
• Developing strategies focused on successful negotiation outcomes.

About you

As an ideal candidate, you should hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and boast specialised experience in negotiating and delivering property-related agreements, demonstrating a deep understanding of the legal landscape.

More about you:
• Exhibit strong negotiation and conflict management abilities, capable of influencing outcomes even without formal authority.
• Have extensive experience in delivering property-related agreements, from initial negotiation to finalization, showcasing a track record of successful outcomes.
• Possess expert knowledge of legal aspects pertinent to the CSG industry and land access, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks effectively.
• Demonstrate excellent business acumen, complemented by analytical and creative thinking skills, essential for navigating complex negotiations and agreements.
• While not essential, previous experience developing and executing negotiations is highly desirable.
