Job Description
FTI Consulting is seeking an Accounts Services Manager for its Corporate Finance & Restructuring team in Melbourne. The role involves overseeing the Accounts Services function, managing a team, handling funds in insolvency administrations, ensuring compliance, and improving operational efficiencies. Candidates should have significant leadership experience in professional services, particularly in funds handling. The position offers a collaborative work environment with various employee benefits, but requires some travel to interstate offices.
About the role
This management position within the Corporate Finance & Restructuring team supervises and manages our Accounts Services function and its staff (currently circa 5 staff, located across our Australian offices). The Accounts Services function services a national team of professional staff working on insolvency appointments. It performs all funds handling related tasks in insolvency administrations and assists with statutory compliance obligations along with other client related administrative duties.
This role is an integral part of the Risk & Operations portfolio and will work closely with the Director - Risk & Operations and other senior staff. The role will have a heavy focus on compliance, risk management, maintenance of strong record keeping practices and the development of greater operational efficiencies.
What You'll Do
• Managing the Accounts Services Team
• Management of banking function, including reporting, monitoring and managing of trust accounts
• Managing of the MYOB insolvency platform, including data protection, managing users and engagement with platform provider
• Identifying staff training needs and delivering ad hoc training where needed regarding the Accounts Services Function
• Monitoring service levels and completion of requests within set timeframes
• Reporting on funds handling matters and statutory obligations
• Implementing a structured program to conduct internal reviews
• Developing Accounts Services checklists, forms and precedent material as needed
• Identifying and implementing process improvements

Qualifications & Experience
• Accounting and/or book-keeping qualifications will be highly regarded
• Minimum 5 years' experience leading a team within a professional services setting and ability to work well in a team environment
• Funds handling in insolvency administrations and banking experience
• Excellent book-keeping skills with MYOB Insol and / or Core IPS experience
• Demonstrated ability in proactively managing risk and implementing appropriate solutions
• Preparedness to travel to interstate offices as needed
