This role is part of a Career Progression Group, meaning that candidates may be hired at different levels (A, B, or C) based on their experience. Responsibilities
• Perform repair and conservation of archival materials demonstrating signs of damage or deterioration.

• Assist in conducting preservation assessments of collections.

• Follow proper protocols and best practices for established preservation and conservation procedures and workflows.

• Maintain appropriate documentation of treatment performed.

• Maintain equipment and storage areas within the Conservation Lab to ensure materials are secure and properly handled and stored while being treated.

• Assist in monitoring environmental conditions in the collections storage areas and vaults.

• Assist Conservation Services Supervisor in emergency planning and response activities.

• Assist Exhibits Archivist in preparing selected original collection materials for exhibition.
Requirements
• A baccalaureate degree.

• Six years of full-time work experience in any field may substitute for the required baccalaureate degree.

• Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
